Network monitoring / management

Network Monitor Listing updated: July 2, 2002

Network Monitor runs permanently to monitor the machines on your network, for faults and changes. The Network Monitor can monitor the machines that you have previously audited, using the Network Auditor. It compares the hardware and software that it finds on these machines against what you have recorded in your Inventory and alerts you of changes.

Network Monitor will gather information on remote machines using the Remote Registry service, which is part of the Windows operating system. It will then compare this against the information that you have recorded in your inventory databases from the last time that the machine was audited, and alert you of any changes.

Alerts can be sent either directly to your e-mail (using any SMTP server) or, using PageGate, to any alphanumeric pagers, numeric pagers, cell phones, PIMs, billboards or pcmcia pager cards.
