How to Determine Whether a Client Is Connected by RAS or LAN

Netspeed.com will determine whether the logon is via a slow connection. This could be a slow WAN connection or a RAS connection. Netspeed is a logon script utility available with SMS. Checkras.exe , on the other hand, can determine if the logon is coming in via RAS. Checkras is a logon script utility from the BackOffice Resource Kit. This information was taken from Q173530 . A recent change in the kb article states that

NOTE: CheckRas.exe is not included with the Back Office Resource Kit 4.5 or later. There is much of value here.

We may have to scramble around and get it from the earlier version.
