A tip on how to use item-level targeting to configure a new Drive Maps item to apply only to members of a specified security group.

To use item-level targeting to configure the new Drive Maps item so that it applies only to members of the Sales security group who are targeted by the GPO:

  1. With the Drive Maps preference extension selected in the console tree of the Group Policy Management Editor, right-click on the new Drive Map item (S drive) and select Properties.

  2. Switch to the Common tab, and select the Item-Level Targeting option on this tab.

  3. Click the Targeting button to open the Targeting Editor.

  4. Click the New Item menu option, and select Security Group as the item-level target.

  5. In the Group field on the Targeting Editor, select the Sales security group.
  6. Click OK to finish configuring item-level targeting for the preference item. The information on the Processing tab will be updated to indicate that the preference item is being filtered using item-level targeting.
