Hide a Server from the Microsoft Computer Browser Service

Stop sending announcements to the domain.

You can disable a computer in a domain from sending announcements. This helps prevent other users from browsing to or searching for the computer. To do this, add the following registry key and value:

Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

Key: SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters\

Value Name: Hidden

DWORD Value: 1
