Name resolution VERY much slower when switching from LAN to RAS connection

If you have a laptop and use DHCP, you may find that name resolution is very slow once you leave the lan and connect from home using RAS. In fact its so slow you think that the computer is hung. The problem is that the nic card still has DNS addresses cached which are unreachable remotely. Use ipconfig /release to clear this ip data. For more information, see Q169231 ,
