Secure Boot, as the name suggests, allows a Windows to boot securely. The Secure Boot, which is enabled by default on Windows 8 and later operating systems, prevents the execution of unsigned code such as Root Kits.
Requirements: Although Secure Boot is enabled by default on Windows 8 PCs, you would require a hardware that meets the UEFI Version 2.3.1 specifications.
Can Secure Boot support Dual-Boot?: You might not be able to dual-boot if you are running an operating system that does not support the Secure Boot or UEFI-based boot methods such as Windows 7 and Linux machines.
