Windows 8.1 introduces "Automatic Restart After Windows Update" feature. As part of this feature, a PC running Windows 8.1 will be restarted automatically after applying the important patches. To control this behaviour, create the following registry entry:
- Reg Entry: NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers
- Reg Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU
- Reg Type: DWORD
- Value: 1
