Windows 2000 : How to update locked in-use files

Opened in-use files can not be replaced while Windows 2000 is running, the operating system keeps the files locked. The utility, inuse , can replace locked files. There is a Windows NT and a Windows 2000 version of the utility. Kbarticle, Q181345 lays out a clever use of Windows 2000 registry value PendingFileRenameOperations to replace locked files.
