Windows XP Home Edition is
designated by Microsoft as replacement for the Windows3.x/9x
products (starting with Windows
3.x, then Windows95/98 and Windows ME ).
Since the Windows XP products ( the Home Edition and the Professional Edition) are developed
based on Windows 2000, which itself is based on NT-Technology, the usage of
Windows XP Home
will require to get familiar with advanced features, which did
not exist on Windows9x:
- User-Management
and Security(create
Nov. 3,2001)
- NTFS File-System
in case you have to do one yourself : Windows XP Installation
in case you have problems and need to recover : Windows XP Recovery Console
Commercial Message:
When reviewing the Network issue of Windows XP, I was strongly
reminder of the Joke of "Bill Gates and GM",
especially the contol-issue.......
Ethernet
Local Area Networking
networking with XP Home Edition is similar to LAN for Windows XP Professional
Edition,
however there are some differences due to the different
level of User-Management/Security.
( the Step-by-Step guide
covers network to/from Windows XP )
