Installation of DUN 1.2 Upgrade

Microsoft has released the Dial-Up Networking 1.3 Upgrade

The Dial-Up Networking Upgrade 1.2 is not anymore available for download
from Microsoft. Is you still have the old download-file, continue with the
Information below, otherwise download the Dial-Up Networking 1.3 Upgrade.

To check, whether the Dial-Up Networking 1.2 upgrade is installed on your system:

In the Network-Applet of the
Control-Panel. select "Add",
Then "Adapter","Add" and
check under the Manufacturer
"Microsoft", that it lists:
"Microsoft Vitual Private
Network Adapter".
( If this entry is NOT shown, then
you do NOT have the DUN 1.2
upgrade installed )

Installation of DUN 1.2 Upgrade


	The DUN 1.2 upgrade requires first the download and installation of a WINSOCK upgrade.
	Then, install the DUN upgrade.
	After the required reboot, it will install the: Virtual Privarte Networking

	The DUN upgrade installs "Virtal Private Networking" Unless you intent to setup your system as a VPN-Client, you should delete: - Dialup-Adapter#2 (VPN Support) - MS Virtual Private Networking Adapter.
	This is all, what is required to connect to the Internet.
